Advantage Spot On solution can be used for both the treatment and prevention of flea infestations, (and the treatment of biting lice on dogs) on cats and dogs weighing less than 4kg.

This Bayer VPS medicine can also be used on kittens and puppies aged 8 weeks and older, on rabbits over the age of 10 weeks and for lactating females. Treatment of nursing females controls flea infestations on both mother and offspring.

Advantage also kills flea larvae in the home, wherever the treated pet goes. One treatment of Advantage Spot On Solution will prevent further flea infestation for up to three to four weeks on cats and dogs. The fleas are killed within one day following treatment and to prevent further flea infestations, repeat the treatment of Advantage spot on monthly. It is also recommended that all pets in the household are treated for fleas at the same time.

The fleas that you see on your pet are only a small portion of the infestation, 95% of the flea’s life cycle occurs in your pet’s environment. In order to stop an existing flea problem you must deal with the flea larvae in your home, carpets, floorings, upholstery and bedding. Re-infestation from flea larvae in the environment may continue to occur for six weeks or longer after the initial treatment. More than one treatment may therefore be required, depending on the level of fleas in the environment.

How to use:

Advantage is a spot-on formulation; the contents of the pipette are applied directly to the skin between the shoulder blades. The application of Advantage flea treatment is easy and fuss-free.

Step 1: Use the Advantage product that is suitable for the weight of your pet.

Step 2: Remove the lid of the pipette and break the seal by reversing the lid putting it back on the pipette, press down and twist to remove the seal.

For cats the contents of the Advantage pipette are applied directly to the skin by parting the fur at the base of the skull.

For dogs up to 25kg, Advantage should be applied directly to the skin by parting the fur between the shoulder blades. For dogs 25kg and over Advantage should be applied to the skin by parting the fur in 3 to 4 spots from between the shoulder blades to the base of the tail.

3. Subtract your weight from the combined weight of you and your pet.
