Wag's food for senior dogs contains added Glucosamine...
We were feeding both of our dogs Acana most of their lives, and devastatingly found out too late that studies are showing a link between grain free diets and DCM in breeds that do not typically get this heart disease. On behalf of our sweet boy Remington, beware of this risk when using this food, it is marketed as a beneficial food for all dogs which has not been the case for us. Apparently cat foods add in taurine to balance grainfree recipes, unsure why this isn't happening here.
Our 6yr old Samoyed loves this food. We were looking for a lower fat food to help with her loose stools and this has helped greatly. Canadian made and we like the ingredients she is getting. Her coat is beautiful as well. She always looks forward to her meals.
Switched my Australian Shepherd to Light and Fit in October of 24. He is 3 years and was getting a little beefy on his other food. Happy to see he has got down to a great weight in just 4 months.
Have fed ACANA to my previous dog (Great Dane) and now to my German Shepherd mix. It is the only kibble she will eat.
My dog Papis is 4 years old. 6 months ago, bile sludge and Ggt Alp value were high. To treat this diagnosis, my veterinarian recommended that I switch to low-fat Light food. I used the Acana Light and Fit recipe for about 3 months. Today, the ultrasound is clear, there is no sludge and blood values have improved. I would like to thank Acana for producing such quality products.
My staffy loves it! The only food that doesn't give her bad tummy and she is crazy for it. Highly recommend, even for the active dogs. Money well spent especially in the large bags, if you have space.
