It is recommended that the bottle is cleaned weekly using just warm, but not boiling hot, water. Avoid using washing liquids and detergents as this could seriously harm your small animal pet. Avoid putting the bottle in a dishwasher.

Check water daily and re-fill when necessary and especially in warm weather. Check to make sure water is dispersing from the by touching the spout end. If a blockage occurs, remove the bottle from the cage, then the cap and check for, for example, any food morsels in the spout section. Wash thoroughly in warm water and replace. If the issue persists, please return the bottle from where purchased for further examination and, if necessary, replacement or refund. Sudden changes in temperature, resulting in water pressure expansion or contraction within the bottle, can occasionally lead to excess dripping. Try to avoid moving your cage or hutch from, for example, indoors to outdoors on a regular basis. Any dripping should stop once the bottle acclimatises to its new location. If your pet appears distressed, lethargic for any length of time, or stops drinking from it's bottle on a regular basis, seek immediate veterinary help and guidance.
