PetSafe Microchip Cat Flap

Worked for 4 days, now it doesn't anymore. It does not recognise the cat any more. Battery change was ineffective and that is the only support solution. Garbage, do not buy.

Ive had my cat door with the protector plate between the door and my garage door per the recommendation and it's even protected from the sun and elements, stopped working and my barn cats weren't able to access the garage where their food, litter boxes and sleeping quarters are. They are locked in each night to protect them against foxes and coyotes. I liked the micro chip door at first because it kept any roaming dogs, kitties, possum, and raccoons from getting their food and they had a safe place to escape to from predators and weather. They were totally locked out unless I opened the side door I go in to feed and water them, clean out their boxes and get in my freezer which is where their food is. It just blinks red super fast. Ive change the batteries, reset it and nothing so I made it so they can come in and out at will, fully unlocked but the issue is when it was not allowing them in at all, only out after I would unlock in it the morning, they think they still cannot gain access. I have reported and issue awhile ago and a rep talked me through resetting it, which hasn't worked this time and I tried to access the rep through the trouble shooting ticket and got an error message. Now that I am sure the warranty is up even though had a ticket started they will say tough.. buy a new one.. at 107 you would think this would been a solid product with better warranty support!!!

This was a good purchase by way of installment and delivery time, but the click is so loud our cats will not use it. Not sure what we're going to do - we've tried all the tips online and that we could think of and nothing works. It is so loud and they are terrified of it. They were using a "regular" cat door made by Pet Safe before this with no issues.

Installed this a month ago to replace a non-chip activated cat flap. Within a few weeks a neighbour’s cat had figured out how to access the cat flap by pulling it outwards. I now realise that some other models have the locking mechanism in both directions but this one doesn’t so I’m going to have to buy yet another cat flap from somewhere else. I’d like a refund on this one as the one direction lock is a design flaw.
