I have a background in biochemistry and have been managing my dog's seizures (most likely induced by flea treatments) with a ketogenic diet with great success (from 1-6 seizures per day to 0 most days). But it is a pain making it up from fresh ingredients and I want a more convenient food for travelling. I looked for a ketogenic kibble and this came up. I began to introduce it to my dog's diet gradually and had to stop after two days. The seizures returned. I took a closer look at the ingredients: MAIZE!!!! That provides carbohydrate and not a complex one. And the fat/protein ratio needs to be much higher (ie. a LOT more fat than protein). Even without the carbs from the maize, a dog will convert protein into glucose and lose ketosis and its protective effects. This is not a ketogenic kibble, it just has some beneficial ingredients for the brain.

I started my golden on this last april hasnt stopped his seizures but has changed the severity of them he used to have clusters of 2 or 3 seizures now has single seizures lasting 1 minute or so and comes round very quickly before he would go blind bumping into things for a couple of minutes not anymore

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I darent take my dog off this food as seemed to help seizured initially and I’ve found he can have no other food on the market even if it says it’s natural! However is anyone else finding the biscuits so hard the dog can barely chew them. We are on month 6 and I now have to soak the food so he can chew it. The biscuits have done considerable damage to his teeth! He’s a huge dog too! Is there any reason the biscuits are so hard and anyone know of a comparable food that’s edible for them and chewable? I’ll be consulting vets in teeth condition and asking for advice on this food.

[Employee of purina-uk] I tried the product for two of our older dogs with dementia, each above the age of 12 and noticed some great effects in their behaviour and sleeping patterns. They both loved the taste of it, it is really palatable. Although some bloating was noticed in one of them, who bloats easily anyways.
